Face Detection: Capture on what matters in every shot

Make sure the stars of your photo stand out. Face detection technology automatically locates faces in a scene and adjusts your camera settings to focus on what really matters.

In Auto or Smart Capture mode your camera automatically selects the most prominent face(s). Manually select a different face using the navigation controls or touch screen.

Kodak Perfect Touch technology clears up dark shadows so you can relive your memories in richer detail.

  • Press the Review button.
  • Press arrow for previous ⁄ next picture.
  • Press the Menu button, choose Perfect Touch tech, then press the OK button.
  • Follow the screen prompts to replace the original picture or to save the enhanced picture as a new one.
Scene modes: Dial up your creative side
Get the most out of your pictures with scene modes. Switching to the appropriate mode means your camera will adjust to ensure great shots in specific situations like portrait, children, snow, beach, etc.
  • Press the Auto ⁄ SCN button until the Scene icons appear on the mode dial.
  • View scene mode descriptions.
  • Press the OK button to choose a Scene mode.
Image Stabilization and Blur Reduction: Get sharper, steady pictures
Life is always moving but you can still get sharp, steady pictures. Optical image stabilization automatically minimizes camera shake due to long zoom ranges. Blur reduction technology minimizes blur caused by subject movement or low light conditions.
Press the Menu button to customize your camera.

  • Highlight Setup, then press the OK button.
  • Highlight the setting you wish to change, then press the OK button.
  • Choose an option, then press the OK button.

Blurry picture alert When turned on, a blurry hand icon is displayed during picture review and quickview:

GREEN: Picture is sharp enough for an acceptable 4 x 6-inch (10 x 15 cm) print.

Yellow: Picture may be sharp enough for an acceptable 4 x 6-inch (10 x 15 cm) print or sharpness is not determined.

Red: Picture is not sharp enough for an acceptable 4 x 6-inch (10 x 15 cm) print.

White: Print sharpness is not determined.

S1 Technology: Forget about flash, we’ve got it under control
Is it too dark? Is it too light? No matter what, it’ll be alright. S1 Technology prevents blurry pictures, lighting and flash issues from occurring.

  • Press the Shutter button halfway to focus and set exposure.
  • Wait for the ready light or framing marks to turn green.
  • Focus lock sound is generated.
  • Press the Shutter button completely down.
